We though it would be fun to interview some of the fabulous photographers we have the pleasure of working with up here at Tin Poppy Retreat. First up, meet Mr Darren Robinson of Darren Robinson Photography

Shuswap-based photographer Darren Robinson has been captivated by the art of photography since his youth. Similarly, his passion for nature and the outdoors has further inspired most of his work. Now located in Enderby, BC, Darren continues to showcase the amazing people and places of British Columbia.
What is your idea of perfect happiness? Being surrounded by family and people you love What is your greatest fear? Sharks - LOL
Any unusual advice you give to couples pre shoot? Just be natural, savour the moments together, those times when it sinks in that you are now married. Sometimes, couples can get hung up on the minute by minute details that they may not take those carefree moments to live in the now
Which living person do you most admire? My wife Stacy
What is your current state of mind? Blessed to be alive
What is the quality you most like in a man? Amazing, responsible fathers who put unwavering effort into their children’s health and development
What is the quality you most like in a woman? Amazing, responsible mothers who put unwavering effort into their children’s health and development
Which words or phrases do you most overuse? “Just one more shot!” lol

When and where did you shoot your first wedding? 2009 in Powell River, BC
What do you consider your greatest achievement? My family
If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be? I wouldn’t change a thing.
What wedding photography trends are you seeing that you most enjoy? Creativity, the willingness to be different.
Which wedding trends are you seeing that is not your style? Overexposures
What is your most marked characteristic? A desire to help people, however I can
What three words most describe your photography aesthetic? Professional, creative, colourful
Who is your hero of fiction? Perhaps Odysseus from the Odyssey? I admire his courage, care for his people and willingness to think creatively.
Which historical figure do you most identify with? Never thought about that before. Not sure I could pick one.
Who are your heroes in real life? My father, my mother, my wife, my two daughters.
How would you like to die? Happy, fulfilled
