We offer unique elopement and mini wedding packages at our remote solar powered retreat.
We work with local professionals in the industry to insure a beautiful and stress free experience.
Lavender Cabin has dinnerware and seating for up to 16 people.

  • B.C. Marriage Commissioner, Fees & Witnesses
  • Professional Photography (a 70 minute location photography session in and around the property and receive an edited online gallery of 30+ selects) Gallery

Our Package

Tin Poppy Retreat is a private solar powered retreat located in the Larch Hills, 5 hours from Calgary and Vancouver, and only 25 minutes from Salmon Arm BC.
Our 2 night wedding package has onsite accommodations for up to 25 guests, and our reception hall, Emerald Hall can accommodate up to 80 guests.
We have 4 unique cabins on our160 acre property. Our fully furnished cabins include all of the linens and towels.
Lavender Cabin has serving and dishware for up to 25 people, so is a great venue for your rehearsal dinner.
If you've booked the commissioner through us , the commissioner will come up the night before to meet the party, run though logistics, and to make sure the couple has their marriage license!

Emerald Hall

Emerald Hall is located steps from the main cabin, Lavender Cabin, and is furnished with tables, chairs, linens and napkins (white & black)a beautiful retro bar, dance floor and disco ball.
We also have a small inventory of vases and other décor that you’re welcome to use for your event.
Our hall is not heated so please keep this in mind when booking your event. Emerald Hall has access to power and water.

Vendor Responsibilities

  • Meeting with you, your wedding planner/Day of, we are also here to answer your questions and assist with your planning where appropriate and where venue related.
  • Set up of tables and chairs according to your floor plan that we create with you.
  • Keeping the washrooms stocked and clean throughout the night
  • Shut down of venue 12:30 ~power off and garbage removal (we are in bear territory)
  • Post event clean up.

Other Vendors

For catering, bartending, photography, blooms, and wedding planners we are happy to provide you with list of some of the local vendors that we have worked with in the past.
You’re welcome to bring in your own outside vendors.
Please note that your caterer will need to prepare the food in their own kitchen, or bring a mobile kitchen with them to the venue, and supply tableware.
We will be happy to provide you with catering contacts.

A Typical Wedding Itinerary for Tin Poppy

Here is a basic format for a wedding timeline, you can of course choose your own timeline, but this can serve as a guide.
10:00 a.m.—Hair and makeup / getting ready
2:00 p.m.—wedding party and family photos start
3:30 p.m.—guests arrive
4:15 p.m.—ceremony starts
4:35 p.m.—ceremony ends
4:40 p.m.—cocktail hour
5:45 p.m.—buffet opens / Dinner served
7:00 p.m.—general dancing music starts
8:00 p.m.— sunset portraits 8:30 p.m.—dessert 12 a.m.—music off
12:30 a.m.—guests depart
There will be an onsite venue liaison during your event to help with set up, garbage /recycle removal and to make sure the washrooms are clean and stocked, but we require that you have someone that takes care of wedding details that a Day of Coordinator would traditionally do.
This person can be a friend, family member, or a hired professional.
We can provide you with a list of local Day of Coordinators.

Ceremony Sites & Gorgeous Backdrops

We have a couple of ceremony sites to choose from depending on the number of guests attending.
The Emerald Ceremony site is close to the parking area and Emerald Hall. For larger weddings, larger than 30 guests, this is the best location.
Our other site is Lavender Ceremony site, the seating space is limited so we typically hold our elopements and smaller weddings at this site. * Our 160 acre retreat has many beautiful backdrops...

A La Carte

 Local Flora Decor Package Elegantly decorated hall, center pieces for the tables and wedding wreath using the local flora from our forests, fields and mountain garden.
This does not include the bouquet and boutonniere. $1200 1963 Studebaker Lark & Driver $100 per hour
